HVAC for residential is a pain for installation. I’ve done some commercial remodel work and its bad enough for deadlines (schools are the worst for summer vacation). Better to strip a building to bare bones and rebuild parts of a system as necessary. I can’t speak to architecture outside of frame building but I can imagine what kind of pain it is…[Read more]

AI data centres are the new hotness for the economy over here; the amount of energy and water they consume is obscene, so no guilt over AC for me. And my garage is heated for winter to 17c, which is quite comfortable. Mix of gas and electricity in Alberta; they just put an insane recycling fee into solar systems which has killed the industry for…[Read more]

Does no one in Europe have air conditioning? We would die without it here. Been high 20s by midday, doesn’t cool off until around 2100hrs.
Short answer : nope. Offices and shops do have it. For everyone else it can be expensive, too expensive or impossible.
We’ve only ‘recently’ (over the past 50 odd years) managed to upgrade most homes to have c…[Read more] -

@scribbs I’ve got quite a bit from the John Jenkins line on my table I’ll get to after my Indians. I do recommend them as very good sculpts. I also picked up some of the Scotia Grendel Dragon Prince stuff that is good for anyone thinking epic wuxia action should be added to their builds.

Indeed horati0nosebl0wer. not many Classical/Mauryan Indian lines around, at least in terms of modern sculpts. The ones above are about the latest I know of.
and you’re right of course, tracking down info on the armies is nigh on impossible unless you have big bucks (or kept all your WRG stuff 🙂 )

Well, you could do a lot worse than cribbing Adam Ant’s style, and he had plenty of that to go around!

WAB was great though I’m not sure what I’m doing still playing the same rules which i started using in the early 2000’s lol 🙂

Bravo! A very clean and poppy painted unit. I’m surprised to see more Indians but its good to have them about and more options for armies. I feel there hasn’t been much interest until late to sculpt new lines en masse.
Tracking down the history for the most widely available lines was a pain.

Seems the best of both worlds to just get them pre-painted assuming the paint isn’t on to thick. If it’s cheaper not painted then I guess there’s a case to be made.

I suppose you are right on that – takes more time to get the narrative into the fold

You certainly have to walk something of a tightrope with gaming rules so you don’t get that issue for sure
