Hello everybody.

I was joking with @warzan on the last XLBS that I should do a MP3 so that everyone who is not a German native speaker would pronounce units and names correctly. It started as a joke but I somehow dig the idea. Obviously I can’t do all the units and names but I’m willing to make a test run of 10 names.

Please give me 10 unit names you would like to have. I will collect all and then make something with the 10 most wanted.

Here’s a list that most English / non German speaking users will have trouble with :
- Tiger
- Panzer (I suspect in English this would sound like : pants – er )
- Jäger
- Gebirgsjäger
- Fallschirmjäger
- STuG
- Sturmgeschütz
You probably could add the ranks used by leaders as they’re used in Bolt-Action as well.

Looking forward to seeing/hearing ‘some dude on the internet’ make this into a thing and then seeing the results by the OTT crew 😉

Great Idea

Ranks are always good to know and the basic words that get used alongside other words like Kampfgruppe or Sonderkraftfahrzeug

I’d also like to see a video of the OTT all the crew given a list of these words and trying to say them that would be cool to see

I believe I can help with some of those!

Using Limburger’s examples:

Tiger – “Tee-Gah”
Panzer – “Pan-zah”
Jäger – “Yay-Gah”
Gebirgsjäger – “Gee-Beers-Yay-Gah”
Fallschirmjäger – “Fal-Schurm-Yay-Gah”
STuG – “Schtoog”
Sturmgeschütz – “Schturm-Geh-Shootz”
