@limburger I’m presuming there was some rationale when you bought everything.  Or was it all squirrel chasing then too 😀  If you have armies or games that you were buying for then that could provide your structure.  Even if you just divided stuff into a couple of basic categories, say board games and miniatures games then you’ve got started and are better off than you were.

If opening boxes is going to lead to you getting distracted by the contents then good.  That counts as hobby in my book 🙂
